INTERNATIONAL DAY 2011

We are 6 months into our Global School Partnership with The Woodstock School, India. This is a really exciting time for us at FGHS because having a Global School Partnership means that we can take learning beyond our 4 walls and expand the mind of our young people to think bigger both within curriculum frames as well as globally.

As our international day approaches, I would like to invite all stakeholders of Flixton Girls' High School to have a say in the event.

Work to be completed during school closure January 2010

The following is an outline of work to be completed during the school closure.

year 11 French: Speaking exam

• complete answers to Leisure and Home Life
• add more questions and/or elaborate previous answers to Education & Work and      Personal Relationships questions
• complete past Reading paper - Foundation &/or Higher tier(s
• revise on www.s-cool.co.uk

• Year 8, 9 and 10 French & Spanish: visit www.samlearning.com and revise topics already covered in lessons  
• Year 7 French/Spanish: 
• continue to revise vocabulary on www.atantot-extra.co.uk 
• make a voki - a talking avatar on www.voki.com (you will need to create a login and password in order to save your work), for an example of a voki, please scroll through this blog.  To start, click 'create'.  Once you have designed your voki, input a short description about yourself in Spanish/French.  This could be, name, age, birthday and items in your bag for example.

A small reminder about the 3 tasks set over the holidays.

Complete the reading past paper in your exercise books, foundation and/or higher tier(s).
Speaking Exam - General COnversation: write detailed answers for each question under the Theme Leisure
Speaking Exam - Presentation & Discussion: write a 90second presentation on Holidays

Remember:

For each of the speaking tasks, think about what you need for a minimum 'C' grade. Can you remember them? TEST YOURSELF :)

Also, in the conversation, remember that the marks are awarded based on the whole conversation and not on each individual question.
